SEO - History And Evolution

Search engine optimization is the process of getting traffic from the natural search results on search engines. Google was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were college students. Google mainly uses three steps for optimizing web pages named crawling, caching and indexing.scanning of web pages for relevant search is called crawling. After crawling google bot takes a snapshot of scanned web pages and will be save to google's database  is called caching. The production of result according to  search  is called indexing. First time google was niche specific that means, the importance given to content of the web page. In that situation web masters practiced keyword stuffing(loading web pages with keywords) to manipulate site's ranking in search results. Keyword stuffing is one of the  black hat SEO techniques.

Black hat SEO

Black hat SEO refers to unethical practice for ranking the websites. In this strategy webmasters focuses only on ranking, and does not try to maintain the quality of web pages. Google changed content specific ranking strategy to link specific due to lots of un ethical activity. Web sites having highest number of links from another websites became ranked first. Link specific again changed to quality link specific.

Passing the juice: Websites having highest page rank(ranking of website by google according to quality of web pages) start to sell links to another websites. Those websites who sells the links got reduced their ranking.Links can send without losing equity by using the attribute "no follow".

Bounce rate: The percentage of users visiting only one page of the website.
