Search Engine Optimization can be divided in to on page optimization and off page optimization. On page optimization is the process of optimizing web to rank higher. In order to get more traffic in search engine, we optimizes both content and HTML source code of the web pages. On page optimization helps users to understand the exact content of the web pages.
On Page Optimization Techniques
The title tag of the web page is stands for accurate and concise description of a page's content. Google displays 50-60 characters of a title tag with 512 pixel width. Title tag must contain the focusing keyword and it must be attractive. Full capital letters are not allowed in title tag. First letter of every words can be capital. Spelling mistakes and grammatical errors are not allowed. The most important thing is, the title tag must be unique. HTML has different heading tags like h1,h2 and so on. The h1 is considered the important tag, because if there is web page without title tag, google will take h1 as title.

Meta Description
Meta descriptions are HTML attributes that provide concise summaries of web pages. It varies between 155-160 characters. It always good to include focusing keywords in the meta description and keywords must be relevant and attractive. Meta description must be unique. But the content on the page can be similar to the meta description. Meta description has a large impact on Click Through Rate(CTR). The simplest definition of CTR is the percentage of people who clicks on web page after seeing it.Body Section Optimization
Contents in the web page is very important to search engine optimization. Contents must be broken up to paragraphs. Headings should be keyword rich so that search engine can understand your contents easily. Include only one h1 in one page, use a relevant keyword in it with 7 to 8 words. Keyword optimization is the act of researching, analyzing and selecting the best keywords to target to drive qualified traffic from search engine to your website. For better optimization:- The title should contain the focusing keyword
- There must be keywords in the links(anchor text)
- Optimize keyword of the image in your web page
Keyword Density
Percentage of keyword used in the content is called keyword density. Keep keyword wisely in your content and try to keep keyword density in the range 2-5%.
Image Optimization
Using images with in your content is very appealing to the readers. Important things to be noted while optimizing images are:- Name your image in a descriptive way
- Optimize alt-tag for the image
- Use srcset if possible
- Reduce file size for faster loading
- Add caption for easy scanning of pages
- Do not break the left reading line with an image.
Authorship
Editorial power of the web site is also known as authorship. Google authorship is established when you link your google+ profile with your content. Google authorship should not be established to your entire websites or home page. Authorship is meant for single articles
